Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has signed an order for cancellation of 600,000 arms licenses with immediate effect earlier today.

According to sources, the CM’s orders came on the heels of a decision taken by the provincial cabinet in a meeting held earlier in the day.

Sindh police sources quoted Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali said “These permits were sanctioned by provincial interior ministry. However, the holders never bothered to have their licenses verified biometrically even after being warned time and again,”

The cabinet was also told that around a million arms licenses were issued in Sindh out of which only 400,000 were verified biometrically.
