The embattled singer was sentenced to a year in Los Angeles County Jail today after admitting to violating his probation stemming from his 2009 assault on Rihanna. Brown will get credit for 234 days of time served in jail and court-ordered rehab, however, so he only has 131 more days to go.
L.A. Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin also reinstated and extended Brown’s probation, which is now due to be up next January.
Brown was arrested on March 14 for probation violation after being kicked out of the residential treatment facility in Malibu where he had been living.
Brown’s next court date is Aug. 13 for a progress report.
