A video capturing the dramatic collapse of a mall ceiling in the Philippines went viral, causing widespread alarm. This incident occurred at SM Fairview Mall in Quezon City, where water leakage was suspected as the primary cause.
The footage shared extensively on YouTube shows a sudden deluge from the ceiling as the camera approaches the site. A sweeper, caught off-guard while cleaning, narrowly escapes harm as water and debris crash.
Subsequently, the ceiling gives way, unleashing a torrent that sweeps away wet floor signs. Moments later, another section of the ceiling falls, eliciting screams from onlookers. The sweeper, witnessing the rapid escalation, stops mopping and moves to safety.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Social media users shared varied reactions in the comments. One suggested the sweeper should leave, while another humorously noted the need for a larger mop. Drawing a political parallel, a third comment cryptically referenced “Biden’s America.”
This event recalls a similar incident from the previous year: an undersea earthquake triggered a ceiling collapse.
