The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad, citing unauthorized construction, breach of building regulations, and an expired lease.
Special Magistrate Sardar Asif and Assistant Commissioner Abdullah supervised the operation.
Before sealing, the CDA issued a 24-hour eviction notice to the families in the family block, warning, “Vacate KP House in 24 hours or face action.” Officials stated that the seals were applied due to building regulation violations.
After completing the seal, CDA staff departed from the scene, while many Islamabad police remained outside to ensure security.
A CDA spokesperson revealed that KP House’s lease expired in June 2006. Despite notices in February and June this year, the KP government did not provide the necessary No-Objection Certificate (NOC). The decision to seal came after KP House authorities repeatedly ignored cooperation requests.
The CDA team had previously targeted and sealed illegal sections of KP House, including two residential units, with Islamabad police ensuring order during the operation.
