As the Anti- Balaka militia have gone on a rampage in the Central African republic, state security forces, the African Union peace keepers as well as French peace keeping troops have often looked helplessly on. There are not enough troops to protect the Muslim minority from is increasingly becoming a genocide.
Displaying unprecedented bravery, courage and leadership skills, in many instances the nuns and priests of the Roman catholic Church have have been virtually alone in protecting the vulnerable. While entire towns have been ‘ethnically cleansed’ the survivors have found refuge in the shelters and churches run by these priests.
