Careem, a leader in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape, has introduced a “later booking” feature in its app, allowing customers to pre-schedule their rides.

This function enables users to arrange transportation at least two hours before their desired departure time, providing a dependable vehicle even in poor connectivity.

The “later booking” option is particularly favoured by students, office workers, and those needing reliable transport for airport trips and special events. To use this feature, customers select their ride type in the Careem app, use the “NOW” dropdown menu, and set their preferred time.

The feature allows users to schedule their rides at least two hours or up to one week in advance, ensuring customers have a reliable vehicle ready to go at a time of their choosing despite any connectivity issues.

The system incorporates several checks to ensure timeliness and convenience, such as verifying the assigned driver’s availability, allowing a 15-minute waiting window upon the driver’s arrival, and ensuring the allocation of top-quality vehicles.

Careem’s General Manager, Imran Saleem, commented on the launch: “Mobility plays a crucial role in our society, and our customers count on us for seamless travel. We’re attuned to our users’ specific challenges and strive to innovate continually to enhance and simplify their daily routines.”

Additionally, Careem offers a “Premium 5 & 10” service, allowing users to book vehicles for extended periods—five hours or an entire day. This service is ideal for events like weddings or inter-city journeys, providing uninterrupted, hassle-free transport for longer durations.
