A recent scandal has emerged involving Sarim Burney, a public figure known for his charity work. A British woman, who had relocated to Pakistan for marriage, has levied serious accusations against him.
The woman, who sought refuge with Burney after escaping domestic violence from her husband, claims that although Burney raised funds purportedly to help her return abroad, he never facilitated her departure. During a press conference, the woman, named Aisha, detailed her plight after arriving in Pakistan in 2005 and her subsequent divorce, which led to severe emotional distress and a suicide attempt at Sea View, Karachi. She was then taken to the Sarim Burney Trust.
Aisha explained that she participated in media interviews arranged by Burney, which reportedly raised between 50 to 60 lakh PKR. Despite the substantial funds raised, she alleges that she received none of the money and that Burney never arranged her promised repatriation, instead directing all funds into his account.

She also claimed persistent delays in her repatriation process, stating that Burney would postpone her departure after each interview under various pretexts. When she pressed for action, Burney responded with threats of serious consequences.
Moreover, Aisha accused Burney of exploiting young girls by brainwashing them and subsequently selling them. She discovered several UK passports in a drawer, indicating other potential victims who are now missing.
In light of these allegations, Aisha has appealed to Mohsin Naqvi, the Interior Minister, requesting assistance for her and her family to return to the UK.
