The court issued notices to Adil Farooq Raja and others regarding the defamatory statements, videos and photos that went viral on social media on the petition of actress Kubra Khan and ordered the PTA and FIA to block the content and submit a reply.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) heard a petition filed by the country’s leading actress Kubra Khan against social media news and YouTuber Adil Farooq and others. The actress argued in the petition that Adil Farooq Raja had spread propaganda against four actresses, including me. As a result, our reputation was damaged by baseless propaganda.
“We have earned a name in the film and television industry through hard work. The court notified Adil Farooq Raja and others and sought their response.
The court ordered to block the content on social media against the four actresses, including Kubra Khan, and accepted the request for an urgent hearing and ordered the PTA and FIA to block the content and submit a reply on the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till January 9.
It may be recalled that Kubbra Khan had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against Major (retd) Adil Raja, in which he had requested that a YouTuber had made false allegations against four actresses, including her, which had caused irreparable damage to her reputation.
Khan further said that FIA and PTA had been contacted to remove the defamatory content, but no action has been taken. The last four days have been too bad for my family and me to be described in words. I failed to understand why I was still being severely attacked even after it became clear that the acronym for my name was misunderstood.
“Why is my picture being misused? Then I realized that no one had stopped him. Because we’re used to being quiet. I am exercising my constitutional right as a Pakistani citizen to use the law to protect my dignity.
