Security forces on Tuesday launched an operation to rescue hostages taken by the militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants besieged a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) center in Bannu; security forces commenced an operation to rescue hostages.
The militants housed in the CTD center seized control of the building late Sunday night and took many law enforcement officers hostage. They requested a safe airlift to Afghanistan.
Security personnel have completed the research and kill’. However, security forces are searching the region to neutralize any remaining threats.
It has been reported that several security men were hurt.
The military initiated an effort to release the hostages early morning today, and a clearance operation is underway.
