Heavy rain in Balochistan has killed seven more people. So far, 17 fatalities and 15 injuries have resulted from roof collapses and other incidents. In Azad Kashmir, eight people died in two separate accidents due to ongoing rainfall.
Chaman’s Deputy Commissioner reported from the town bordering Afghanistan that a family, including four women and two children, died when a flash flood swept away their car. Also, heavy rain destroyed numerous mud houses and severely damaged infrastructure, disrupting trade and transport with Afghanistan. Rail services in the region are suspended due to damaged tracks.
A dam in Chaman burst from excessive rainfall, leading to widespread destruction. Urban flooding has paralyzed life, with roads inundated and vehicles washed away. Rescue operations are underway to assist affected communities.
In Azad Kashmir, seven people died when a bus slipped off a road in heavy rain, plunging into a ravine. Another was killed in a landslide that disrupted traffic and sparked calls for safer roadways.
