Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s digital media person Azhar Mashwani reported that his elder brothers, Professors Mazhar and Zahoor Mashwani, were abducted from their home around 2:50 AM by a group of individuals, some in plain clothes and others in Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) uniforms.
Azhar, detailing the incident, emphasized that his family, all of whom are academics with no political ties, have endured similar abductions previously.
Zahoor Mashwani had previously been detained for 145 days, their father for three days, and Azhar himself for eight days. Expressing his distress, Azhar condemned these actions as lawless and oppressive, raising serious concerns about the safety and rights of ordinary citizens in Pakistan under such circumstances.
