The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government Faces Criticism Over Luxury Vehicle Tender
A tender issued for procuring a vehicle worth PKR 20 crore for a Grade 22 officer has sparked outrage. Journalists and social media users have criticized the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for a controversial procurement.
Sunil Manj, the founder of PakWheels, exposed the lavish expenditure in a detailed vlog, highlighting that the General Administration Department of Azad Kashmir called for a vehicle with an exceptionally high price tag, which he criticized as blatantly irresponsible.
In his vlog, Manj questioned the disconnect between the government’s spending habits and the economic realities many in Pakistan face, expressing dismay at the lack of consideration for the financially disadvantaged.
The issue gained further attention when Muhammad Arif circulated the video, emphasizing the “utter shamelessness and insensitivity” of the situation.
Meanwhile, anchorperson Maliha Hashmi also weighed in, condemning the government’s indifference to its citizens’ economic struggles.
Hashmi criticized the excessive spending on luxury vehicles funded by public taxes. She called for more prudent and ethical fiscal policies to ensure fairness and sensitivity towards the population’s broader needs.
