Australian diver Amber Bourke from Queensland has set a new Guinness World Record by walking 370 feet underwater in a single breath, surpassing the length of an American football field.
Footage shows Bourke maintaining a 90-degree angle with her torso flat as she propelled herself along the pool’s bottom using her feet, according to Guinness World Records. Despite stumbling occasionally, she quickly recovered and continued her underwater trek.
Upon completing her challenge, Bourke tapped the wall with her hands and feet, turned, and proceeded in the opposite direction. She managed two full laps and an additional distance at the pool’s bottom before surfacing for air. Once she resurfaced and regained her breath, the distance was verified, establishing a new world record.
“I am a freediving instructor with over ten years of experience,” Bourke shared. “This record was not only a personal dream but also a means to raise funds for the Australian Marine Conservation Society.”
