Australia declares sanctions on key Russian and Ukrainian figures in response to Crimea crisis

Australia has joined the United States and Europe in freezing  asset  and issuing travel bans on targetted individuals over Russia’s alleged  interference in Ukraine.Foreign Minister Julie Bishop told Federal Parliament on Wednesday that 12 Russian and Ukrainian people who had “been instrumental in the Russian threat to Ukraine’s sovereignty” would be hit with the sanctions.She did not name the individuals.
