A biotechnologist in Germany is developing the first artificial womb facility in the world, which will allow parents to select their child’s characteristics from a menu. EctoLife, which can create 30,000 children annually, is reportedly the result of over 50 years of groundbreaking scientific research.

EctoLife is a hypothetical concept created by Yemeni YouTuber Hashem Al-Ghaili, a science communicator and molecular biotechnologist, who claims that the facilities will allow infertile couples to become the biological parents of their children by assisting them in conceiving a child.

If you ordered the “Elite Package,” you can genetically edit the embryo before implanting it into an artificial womb. In addition to preventing genetic diseases, you can choose your child’s strength, height, intelligence, and eye and hair color.

The futuristic creativity of producer Al-Ghaili has captivated many internet users. However, many have mistaken his imaginative video like a short film for an actual advertisement.

In a futuristic YouTube video, the producer introduced EctoLife, the world’s first artificial womb facility that is powered exclusively by renewable energy.

“According to the World Health Organization, around 300,000 women die from problems during pregnancy. The EctoLife artificial womb is intended to lessen human suffering and the likelihood of C-sections. With EctoLife, preterm births and Caesarean sections will become obsolete.”

According to Al-Ghaili, this futuristic laboratory offers a remedy for ladies whose uteri were surgically removed due to cancer or other disorders. It is also good news for Japan, Bulgaria, South Korea, and many other nations facing major population declines.

He believes that ethical considerations are the only thing preventing the concept from becoming a reality, given that the necessary technology already exists.

Each element described in the concept is totally based on science and has previously been accomplished by scientists and engineers. He asserts that the only remaining option is to build a prototype by combining all the capabilities into a single device.

In terms of temporality, moral principles do matter. Currently, research on human embryos is limited to 14 days. After 14 days, embryos must be destroyed for ethical reasons. Al-Ghaili predicts that it will take between 10 and 15 years for EctoLife to be widely adopted around the globe if these moral restrictions are eliminated.

Each of the 75 exceptionally well-equipped labs in this structure can accommodate up to 400 growth pods or artificial wombs. Each pod is constructed to replicate the circumstances within the mother’s uterus. Each year, up to 30,000 lab-grown children can be incubated in a single building.

The pods’ screens display real-time data regarding the infant’s development. A mobile application can also be used to view the data.

The infant can develop in an environment free of disease. The materials utilised to construct the pods inhibit the adhesion of microorganisms to their surfaces. Each development pod is outfitted with sensors capable of monitoring the baby’s vital statistics, including heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, breathing rate, and oxygen saturation. The device based on artificial intelligence also monitors your baby’s physical traits and notifies you to any potential genetic anomalies.

It is claimed that infants can comprehend language and absorb words while still in the womb, hence EctoLife development pods incorporate speakers that play a range of phrases and music to the infant. A baby can select the music they wish to hear via an app, and you can sing directly to them to help them become accustomed to your voice prior to birth.

Before implanting the embryo in the artificial womb, the Elite Package allows for its genetic modification.

According to the website, the Elite Package “allows you to genetically modify the embryo before implanting it in an artificial womb if you want your child to stand out and have a brighter future.”

Using the CRISPR-Cas 9 gene editing technique, it is possible to modify any trait of a child by altering one of more than 300 genes.

The Elite Package allows you to modify your child’s eye colour, hair colour, skin tone, physical strength, height, and level of intelligence through genetic engineering. In addition, it helps you to cure any genetic disorders that run in your family, allowing your child and their offspring to live pleasant, disease-free lives.

“EctoLife delivers a safe, pain-free alternative that makes childbirth less stressful. “The delivery process is streamlined, convenient, and can be completed with the click of a button,” the corporation claims.

“Once the amniotic fluid has been drained from the artificial womb, you will be able to remove your child from the growth pod with ease. Everything has been meticulously crafted to ensure that you and your spouse enjoy the delivery experience.”
