It appears that camel amputation has become a trend in Sindh as camel at Morjhango near Kunri tehsil in rural Sindh was found dead with all four of its legs amputated.
The camel’s owner, Abdul Rashid, talked to Geo News and reported that the animal had been ill and had gone to graze the previous day. While discussing the matter, Rashid expressed his desire to gather more information without making immediate accusations.
“I have around 40 to 45 female camels. All returned from grazing last evening except her; she was left behind,” Rashid said. He remains uncertain about the perpetrators: “God knows who made her run, beat her, and cut her legs. We don’t know anything yet… we’ll see what to do next.”
Rashid discovered the tragic scene this morning and confirmed that the police had arrived.
This event represents the second recorded instance of camel amputation in Sindh. Prior to Eid-ul-Adha on June 14, a landlord, along with his employees, tortured a camel by amputating one of its legs in Sanghar’s Mundh Jamrao area as punishment for the animal straying onto his land.

The brutal act was captured on video and widely shared on social media, drawing significant public outrage.
Authorities responded to the public’s call to action against animal cruelty by arresting those involved in the previous incident. A Sanghar court subsequently placed six suspects on a two-day physical remand on June 20.
The camel involved in the earlier incident was transported to Karachi on June 15 for rehabilitation. A non-governmental organization has taken charge of its care, naming it Cammie. Promised an artificial leg, Cammie was provided with a supportive harness earlier this week by Bioniks Pakistan, a prosthetics firm tasked with creating the camel’s artificial limb.
