Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the President of the Awami Muslim League (AML), experienced defeat in the recent elections for both National Assembly constituencies in Rawalpindi. His nephew, Rashid Shafeeq, issued a concession statement acknowledging this outcome. Candidates backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged victorious in these constituencies.

Reaction to the Outcome

In his statement, Shafeeq conveyed that Rashid Ahmed graciously accepted his defeat in NA-56 and NA-57, Rawalpindi. He congratulated the independent candidates, Seembia Tahir and Shehryar Riaz, who won the seats. Despite their disappointment, Rashid Ahmed and his team found solace in the fact that their rivals from the PML-N also failed to secure victories in these contests.
