Afghan President at odds with the US

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has gone rogue on US. In an interview with the Washington Post he said “Afghans died in a war that’s not ours” and he also added that the war in Afghanistan was not fought with his country’s interests in mind.

The statement has come just a month before an election and selection of his successor.

Karzai has already refused to sign a security deal with Washington that would allow NATO especially US troops to stay in Afghanistan even after 2014. The delay has frustrated the White House and President Barack Obama. Obama has already advised Pentagon to prepare for the possibility that no US troops will be left in Afghanistan after 2014.
