The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier today announced a 15-member squad for the three Twenty20 Internationals to be played between November 26-30 against England.

Pakistan’s flamboyant and swashbuckling middle order batsman Umar Akmal was dropped from the squad for violating the PCB’s code of conduct.

PCB sources said that Umar was found involved in activities which had brought disrepute to the country.

Akmal had received ‘Man of the Match’ award in the last T20 played against Zimbabwe in September.

According to Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed, Umar was dropped for violating the Code of Conduct issued by PCB while Peshawar city’s Riffatullah Mehmand and Iftikhar Ahmed are included in the squad owing to their recent good performance at domestic level.

Talking about Imad Wasim’s inclusion, the PCB chief selector said that the all rounder has to prove his fitness before selectors.

“We will drop him, if he fails to prove his fitness and go ahead with Bilal Asif,” Rasheed further said.

Pakistan is currently playing a four-match One Day International series with England and has already won the first match which was played on November 11.

The national cricket team earlier beat England in the three match Test series 2-0 making the Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq the most successful captain of his country.
