The government has announced to add 2487 megawatt low-cost hydel electricity to the national grid from early to mid of 2018.
Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman, Muzammil Hussain, while briefing to Minister for Water Resources Syed Javed Ali Shah in Lahore said that following completion of Neelum Jhelum, Tarbela 4th Extension and Golen Gol in a phased manner will bring additional electricity to the system.
Muzammil Hussain said WAPDA was fully focused on optimal utilization of water and hydropower resources to meet the increasing requirements of water and electricity in the country.
