Loni Willison, the ex-wife of former “Baywatch” actor Jeremy Jackson, has experienced a dramatic change in her life since their separation a decade ago. Once a successful model, Willison’s circumstances have deteriorated, as evidenced by her recent sighting searching for food in a trash container in Santa Monica.
Now 39 years old, Willison has spent nearly seven years living in California’s makeshift shelters and homeless encampments. She is often seen with her sparse belongings collected in a shopping cart. Her struggles began to intensify in 2016 when she was first noticed residing on the streets of Los Angeles.
Photos taken on Tuesday revealed a visibly emaciated Willison, who appeared to be missing multiple teeth and had short hair. This image contrasts sharply with her previous days as a fit and radiant glamour girl. Willison’s mental health and substance abuse issues have escalated in recent years, contributing to her loss of control following her divorce from Jackson in 2014. Their marriage lasted only two years.
The relationship between Willison and Jackson was tumultuous and reportedly ended due to a drunken altercation where Jackson attempted to strangle Willison. The incident left Willison with broken ribs, an injured neck, and scratches on her face and body. However, she decided not to press charges against her former spouse.
In an interview with the Sun, Willison shared insights into her life on the streets and the measures she takes to avoid abuse. To deter potential assailants, she has not showered in over a year and intentionally makes herself as dirty and smelly as possible. Despite these efforts, she acknowledged that being attacked is an unavoidable risk in her current situation.
Willison also explained that she had been robbed multiple times and had had to change her appearance to minimize the likelihood of being targeted. She cuts her hair to look different but admits that assault remains a constant threat. Her story is a poignant reminder of the difficulties faced by those struggling with mental health and addiction and the vulnerability of those living on the streets.
