PPP-led Sindh government has decided not to accept resignations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement ministers and advisors, paving the way for reconciliation between to the two parties.
According to sources, the two sides are currently engaged in a ‘reconciliation’ process. In this regard, PPP’s Rehman Malik, has been entrusted the task to contact MQM leaders.
Malik on Monday reportedly telephoned Altaf Hussain after meeting Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari; however, the MQM chief refused to hold any further talks with PPP on the issue of Sindh government.
To facilitate the talks, sources said, the Sindh government has decided not to accept resignations of MQM minister and advisors.
The PPP leadership has also directed Sindh Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani not to issue, for the time being, his decision on an application filed by MQM seeking allotment of opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly.
Earlier today, speaking to reporters, Durrani offered to play his role as mediator between PPP and MQM, and urged both the parties to ward off misunderstandings.
