The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called fast bowler Muhammad Irfan and Shahzaib Hassan in connection with the inquiry of a spot fixing scandal in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The Anti-Corruption Unit of PCB has issued letter seeking both the cricketers to appear before the authorities on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Muhammad Irfan, Shahzeb Hassan also came under investigation during the PSL tournament after PCB suspended Islamabad United duo Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif over spot fixing scandal.

The two cricketers are accused of reporting alleged contact by the bookies under the contract.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan had told media both suspended cricketers were involved in spot-fixing, adding that the suspects would  be given the chance to defend themselves against all allegations leveled against them.

“As soon as our Anti-Corruption Wing got to know about the entire episode, it took action,” he said.

“Everything is in our hands. We will decide the case and we will hand out the punishments,” he had said.
