The mother and elder brother of the deceased Suleman Lashari in the DHA shootout case on Monday identified the killers during the identification parade in the sessions court.
Speaking in court, Lashari’s mother said, “the prime suspect Salman Abro opened indiscriminate fire on her son.” She added that the suspects were armed when they showed up at the Lashari residence.
Investigation sources said that Suleman Lashari was shot in the neck and hip. The neck shot wound proved fetal.
The bullet that had hit his neck was fired from a government issued SMG (Sub machine gun) and at the time of the assault all the policemen involved, viz. Zaheer, Rashid, Yasin, Maqbool and Imran were dressed in plain clothes.
SP Ghulam Sarwar Abro’s son, Salman Abro, 18, along with five offical police guards allocated to his father for personal security, had stormed the residence of Suleman Lashari, 18, on Khayaban-i-Shamsheer at around 2am. They opened fire and killed Lashari and his guard. Salman Abro was also wounded in the shootout and sustained two bullet wounds in his spinal cord and kidney areas.
The dispute is alleged to have taken place over a car race.
