Clashes between police and unruly protestors of the PTI and PAT resumed Monday morning as mob entered a key government building in Islamabad’s Red Zone.

However, the charged protestors were later stopped by army troops soon after entering Pak Secretariat building.

Amid heavy rain and thundershower in the federal capital, hundreds of protestors regrouped this morning for a fresh showdown with law-enforcers.

The baton-yielding and stone throwing protestors crossed a distance of nearly one kilometer from outside the Parliament House and reached Pak Secretariat.

The protestors reached Pak Secretariat, broke outer gate of the building and entered the premises after standoff with riot police deployed to protect the administrative building.

Earlier the protestors smashed windowpanes of several vehicles of government employees at PTV Chowk, before heading to the Pak Secretariat. They also torched a container placed outside the building.

The unruly mob also removed a couple of shipping containers from a nearby road leading to Prime Minister House.

Many of the protestors have reached Punjab House and attempting to enter the building. However, the riot police contingent is resisting surge of charged crowd.

The riot police at some points continued to resort aerial firing to disperse the stone-throwing mob.
