Skipper Misbahul Haq’s fantastic 91 runs off 99 balls guided Pakistan chase England’s 251-run target in their World Cup warm-up match in Sydney earlier today.
England had won the toss and scored 250 runs on the board while batting first.
After fall of four wickets on just 78 runs, Umar Akmal (65) and Misbah held a 133-run crucial partnership.
Before the match Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said that he was satisfied with the team’s performance. He said victory’s in today’s match would boost confidence of the players.
Both England and Pakistan have register wins in the warm-up games. England beat the West Indies by nine wickets while Pakistan downed Bangladesh by three wickets.
The victory will give Pakistan confidence before taking on title-holders India in their first World Cup game in Adelaide on Sunday.
Meanwhile a confident Australia steam rolled a hapless UAE team to win their warm up match as well.
