Foreign Minister (FM) of China Wang Yi met Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz today (Thursday) in Islamabad to discuss economy and energy issues.
According to sources, the leaders discussed all aspects of bilateral relations, particularly political and economic cooperation along with the elimination of terrorism and existence of peace in the region whereas both the leaders addressed a joint press conference after the meeting.
While talking to the media, Sartaj Aziz stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping will also soon visit Pakistan.
He said that China is investing in energy projects of Pakistan under the Pak-China Economic Corridor.
Sartaj Aziz added that China has praised the efforts of Pakistan to curb terrorism whereas both the countries will work together for the peace and stability of Afghanistan.
On the other hand, Chinese FM Wang Yi said that China gives great importance to the Pak-China relationship.
He termed economic and security cooperation as important for both countries.
Wang Yi said that, “both the countries have mutually agreed to intensify anti terrorism efforts whereas he assured that the energy and transport projects in Pakistan will be completed soon”.
Furthermore, he stated that China will cooperate with Pakistan in the rehabilitation of Afghanistan.
Pakistan and China showed complete consensus on matters regarding economy and security.
