A US spy was arrested by security agencies who was deported from the country in 2011 on charges of espionage.
Matthew Craig Barrett entered Pakistan from Islamabad airport through a landing card that carried his wrong credentials, according to officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Barrett was arrested from Islamabad’s Sector G-8 and shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the grant of a Pakistani visa to Matthew Craig Barrett, the US citizen who was expelled from the country after he was allegedly caught spying on sensitive installations.
Interior Minister has already suspended, Ehtisham, assistant director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), as well as duty immigration staff who cleared him at the airport.
