A fire that broke out on Sunday morning in the timber market near Old Haji Camp in Karachi was put out by a multitude of fire tenders after 10 hours.
The affected people who kept sitting under open skies through the nighttime demanded the government to dispatch the helicopter to partake in the firefighting operation.
Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui himself is supervised the relief efforts so that no dereliction occurs.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar visited the site and criticised the concerned authorities for not bringing the fire under control on time.
Chief Fire Officer, Ehtisham-uddin told the media that the fire alert was raised to a category three and more tenders from across the city were called in.
