Famine in Thar claimed four more lives today, increasing the death toll to 295 in a span of 100 days.
Thar has been facing scarcity of water, food and facilities for three years but nothing much has yet been done by the government whereas the sluggish distribution of wheat, blankets and dates caused trouble for the affected people.
Malnourished children suffering lack of vitamins, food supplements and other life saving drugs also need a balanced diet. Death toll for the month of January alone has already reached 38 as of today.
