A terrorism plot foiled in Muzaffargarh district of southern Punjab on the eve of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) on Saturday.
According to reports, a police party deployed at Mehmoodkot Road on an intelligence report intercepted a vehicle for routine checking; but, the saboteurs recklessly opened fire at them.
In cross firing, police killed four terrorists in encounter while three others escaped from the scene.
Three policemen were also injured in the incident and admitted at a hospital for medical treatment.
Twelve rocket launchers, 40 grenades, 328 kilograms of chemicals, four suicide jackets, a pistol and a rifle and other munitions were captured in the raid.
According to DPO Muzffargarh, Rai Zamir-ul-Haq, suicide vests, rocket launcher and other weapons have been taken into custody from the vehicle.
DPO has also confirmed that the terrorists were affiliated with Abu Abdullah Group of Punjabi Taliban.
