AA according to reports a teenager got away with posing as a doctor at a hospital in Florida for over a month.
A patient alerted staff at St Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach to what they thought was a child dressed as a physician.
The teenager had donned a white lab coat, a stethoscope and a surgical mask as he wandered the facility’s obstetrics and gynaecology department.
Dr Sebastian Kent, who works in the out-patient office, told WSB-TV the teen “presented himself with a patient of our practice and introduced himself as Dr Robinson”.
Police said the 17-year-old was in the room while Dr Kent conducted an examination.
“The first thing I thought was, I am getting old because these young doctors look younger every year,” Dr Kent said.
The unidentified teen’s ruse came to an end when he was detained by security on 13 January.
Police said CCTV footage showed him walking around hospital wings for at least a month.
In a statement, the hospital said the teen “never had contact with any hospital patients and did not gain access to any patient care areas of the hospital at any time.”
The teen’s mother claimed her son has a ‘condition’ and has refused to take prescribed medication.
