The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistani (TTP) has accepted responsibility for today’s attack on Karachi’s airport, the second in as many days.
At least two gunmen fired on a security check-post outside the airport before escaping the area. There were no casualties.
“Today’s attack on ASF (Airport Security Force) in Karachi is in response to the bombardment on innocent people in Tirah Valley and other tribal areas. We will continue such attacks,” spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said, referring to air strikes on suspected militant hideouts which left 25 dead according to ISPR.
The TTP had earlier owned the attack on Karachi airport on late Sunday night which killed over two dozen people including Airport Security Force (ASF), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials. Ten terrorists were also killed by security forces.
They have vowed to continue similar attacks in future as well.
