Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan has been named as the “Bollywood’s Most Charitable Person” by a China based organisation called Hurun Research Institute (HRI).
Khan’s Red Chilies Entertainment donated Rs 25 crores for rural and social development while Salman Khan’s trust Being Human pooled in Rs 11 crores for healthcare sector.
Shah Rukh Khan also known as ‘King Khan’ rose to fame with his movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) in which he portrayed the role of a passionate lover in 1995. Year after year his blockbuster movies earned him prominence not only in movie crazed south Asia but also around the world.
Khan has been the brand ambassador of various governmental campaigns, including Pulse Polio and National AIDS Control Organisation but speaking to the UK newspaper, The Guardian, he said that he tries to keep his charity work guarded because of his religious beliefs.

He was named by Newsweek as one of their 50 most powerful people globally in 2008 and his wealth has been estimated at US$400–600 million. Khan owns several properties in India and abroad, including a house in New Delhi, a £20 million apartment in London and a villa on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
