Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Wednesday stepped down from his post as Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to details, Jamaat chief wishes to designate more time towards managing his party affairs.
Sirajul Haq had taken charge as Jamaat chief a few months ago and had excused himself from continuing as Finance Minister of the province. However, following his meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Jamaat chief had postponed his resignation.
Reportedly, PTI chief had expressed his wish for Sirajul Haq to stay as the minister until the budget of the current fiscal year is finalized.
Once that task was completed he asked to be relieved of his duties to concentrate on managing the Jamaat.
