Sindh Assembly will elect the new chief minister of the province today (Friday).
The contest will be between the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Syed Murad Ali Shah and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Khurram Sher Zaman for the seat.
The opposition parties of Sindh, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have decided not to take part in the voting process.
The seat left vacant after Syed Qaim Ali Shah resigned from his office on Wednesday. Ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership in a meeting in Dubai had made the decision to replace elderly party stalwart Syed Qaim Ali Shah on 24th July.
