A man thrown a show at the Chief Awami Muslim League, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed as he arrived Lahore Railway Station to attend the final of Pakistan Super League.
The chief of Pakistan Awami Muslim League arrived Lahore was given a warm welcome by Railway authorities at the station where he was hit by shoe.
According local news channels, a shoe was thrown at AML Chief by an elderly man identified as Faqeer Muhammad who claimed that he did over “political rivalry”.
The man was taken into custody by local police. There was no immediate response from Sheikh Rashid but the senior politician retweeted a string of messages condemning the shoe hurling.
While talking to media moments before the incident, he said he arrived in Lahore to witness the match against the wishes of his political ally Imran Khan and PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari.
He also thanked Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique for the welcome he was accorded on his arrival.
