The Sindh High Court earlier today maintained the earlier decision of indicting Inspector General of Police, Sindh as well as other police officials in the contempt of court case.
Following its decision the hearing has been adjourned till the 15th of December.
Justice Sajjad Ali Shah remarked that to protect institutions strong decisions need to be taken, adding that the police officers were given two chances to come clean but they did not disclose the truth.
If they had revealed the truth during the hearing the decision might have been different, Justice Shah added.
The contempt of court case was initiated against the IG Sindh and other police officers after masked policemen assaulted those accompanying Zulfiqar Mirza and journalists outside the Sindh High Court.
