Despite ailment, former information minister Sharjeel Memon appeared before the National Accountability Court for the hearing of a corruption reference against him.
Memon’s legal counsel while talking to the media Memon said that despite having difficulties in walking he appeared before.
Lawyer said Memon has had been going through a back-related ailment, for the treatment of which he had also gone abroad.
Memon avoided speaking to the media about his days in detention. When asked why he was avoiding the media although Dr Asim shared details about his imprisonment, Memon said Asim was a brave person.
It was for the first time the Memon was at the National Accountability Bureau reference.
NAB filed a reference case against Memon and 10 others in an accountability court of Karachi for alleged corruption of around PKR 5.76 billion.
The others accused include Zulfiqar Ali Shallwani, Aneeta Baloch, Mansoor Ahmed Rajput, Mohammad Yousuf Kaboro, Inaam Akbar, Altaf Hussain Memon, Riyaz Manir, Fazal Mehmood, Mohammad Hanif, Asim, Masood Hashmi, Gulzar Ali, Suleman Mansoor, Umer Afridi, Syed Naveed, and Sarang Latif Chandio.
The court has adjourned hearing on the case till May 6.
