The Supreme Court earlier yesterday reserved its judgment on four appeals against death sentences announced by military courts.
The court reserved verdict after completion of arguments on appeals of Muhammad Ghouri, Tahir, Fazl Ghaffar and Alif Khan.
The five-member larger bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Faisal Arab took up appeals against death sentences announced by military courts.
Muhammad Ghouri was involved in bomb blast at Paradeline mosque, Tahir was involved in Bannu jail break up and Alif Khan was accused of working for alien agencies.
Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali remarked that the state had to take extraordinary measures in exceptional circumstances.
Later, hearing on remaining appeals was adjourned till June 20. (APP)
