Renowned drama writer Fatima Surayya Bajia passed away at the age of 85 in Karachi earlier today.
The veteran writer was the sister of writer Anwar Maqsood, and was suffering from a prolonged illness.
Fatima Surayya Bajia’s biography was launched in 2012.
She had been awarded several times for her untiring efforts in Urdu literature.
Born on September 1, 1930 in Hyderabad, India; she migrated with her family soon after Pakistan was formed.
