The former interior minister Rehman Malik has written an open letter to United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to ‘thrash’ out a strategy against the sadistic terror outfit Daesh (ISIL).
In the letter, he also expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in recent terrorism attacks in Brussels and in different parts of the world.
Malik said that the recent attacks must be a wake-up call to the international community and the UN to formulate a one point strategy to dismantle the network of terrorists.
He said that sacrifices of Pakistan on war on terror were matchless as the country has suffered devastation of infrastructure and huge economic losses in the last one decade or so.
“With our experience here I have assessed thatDaesh has expanded its terror activities to Europe and the rest of the world in pursuit of its hostile agenda,” Malik said, adding that the incessant acts of terrorism showed that the international community has failed to dismantle the terrorists’ network.
The appallingly barbarous and continuous acts of terror carried out by the Daesh in Middle East, South Asia, Turkey and in Brussels is a point to ponder for the world leaders, the letter said urging the UN chief to outline a strategy to take on terrorists across the world.
