The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has provided with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) the nomination papers of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Imran Khan’s PTI has approached the ECP seeking Nawaz Sharif’s ineligibility to hold his office.
On Wednesday, the ECP confirmed that the documents have been provided to PTI leaders.
PTI’s Murad Saeed and Ali Muhammad Khan filed an application to the ECP last week to get a copy of Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers. They said the move is intended to file a reference with Speaker National Assembly seeking PM Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification.

PTI spokesperson, Dr. Shireen Mazari, said her party filed the petition on the grounds that PM Nawaz Sharif failed to fulfill requirements as laid down in Article 62 and Article 63 of the Constitution.
She said PM Sharif violated his 10-year exile deal and lied to the nation and that he has been convicted in Asghar Ali Khan and helicopter purchase cases.
