Polling underway for by-election in Sindh Assembly constituency, PS-127, in Karachi.
PS-127 seat in Malir district of Karachi is vacant after MQM lawmaker Ashfaque Mangi left his party and resigned from the assembly seat to join the Mustafa Kamal-led Pak Sarzameen Party.
The MQM, PPP and PTI are in fray for the seat.
The government of Sindh has declared September 8 as holiday in the constituency to facilitate the voters.
The Election Commission has granted the authority of Magistrate to Rangers and Presiding Officers.
More than 107,000 voters are registered in the constituency where 134 polling stations have been set up, with at least 20 candidates in the run.
Rangers will remain deployed inside and outside the polling stations whereas army’s quick response force will remain standby.
