Police gun down four suspects in two separate ‘encounters’ in Faisalabad and Sheikhupura on late Wednesday night.
Two suspects have been identified as Qaisar and Fayyaz, Police claimed that duo were involved in serious offences including robberies.
Police officials said that duo were being escorted for recovery when their accomplices opened fire on police team near Khanwala area to free them. The gunfire by their accomplices seriously wounded the two suspects, while one of the attackers was also injured in retaliation by the law enforcers. The attackers, however, managed to flee away.
The wounded suspects were being shifted to hospital, but they succumbed to their injuries on the way.
In another encounter, police killed two suspected robbers in Sheikhupura.
Police claimed both suspects were robbing the people on Sargodha Road, following spotting police van they opened fire. In the retaliatory fire by the law enforcers left two suspected robbers dead, while their accomplices fled taking advantage of the dark.
Officials also claimed to have recovered weapons that had belonged to the deceased robbers.
The bodies were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
