Commotion and chaos erupted when PTI and PML-N workers at polling station in Shamsabad faced off each other during polling for NA-149, Multan on Thursday.
Extra contingent of police and Rangers was called to the site shortly after both entered a scuffle. Polling was also halted for some time. Activists of Paksitan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chanted slogans and accused each other for rigging.
Some of the activists were wielding batons, however police stopped them from becoming violent.
Police said the polling had resumed and situation was brought under control after extra contingent of law enforcers was summoned to the site.
