Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier today called for gearing up efforts to generate low-cost energy in order to make it affordable for people.
Presiding over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy, the prime minister directed that supply of electricity be improved by next summer.
He said all hurdles in the way of speedy power generation should be overcome.
Mr Sharif expressed confidence that duty-free import of solar panels would help reduce load on the existing system.
He welcomed international support for overcoming energy shortage in the country.
