United States Secretary of State John Kerry visited Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Monday in Prime Minister House.
In a one-on-one meeting both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and the situation of the region.
On this occasion Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the United States of America was a vital component of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged President Obama’s cooperation in the aftermath of Peshawar attack on December 16 last.
He highlighted Pakistan’s focus on greater market access for Pakistani products and US investment in Pakistan for creating job opportunities.
In the meeting, both the leaders discussed the bilateral relations. John Kerry expressed grief over the horrific attack on Army Public School (APS) Peshawar and said that terrorists are common enemies of the US and Pakistan. PM Nawaz said that US is an important factor in formation of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The prime minister also appreciated the US support for Dasu and Diamer-Bhasha dam projects.
John Kerry extended condolences of the US government and people on the tragic Peshawar incident and said that terrorists were the common enemy of the two countries.
