The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended flight operation for the United States.
According to Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, government has decided to suspended PIA flight operations due to low traffic and $.4 billion losses.
PIA has decided to suspended its flight operations for New York from November 2017 onwards. However, it will continue to operate flights — Lahore-New York and Karachi-Lahore-New York — till Dec 31.
Nearly 500,000 Pakistanis live in the US and PIA has never stopped its flight operation for that country since it launched the operation there in 1961.
