Government announced on Friday has increased the prices of petrol and high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1 per litre.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while talking to media in Dubai announced new prices of petrol which will be sold at Rs. 74 per litre, whereas the new price of high speed diesel will be at Rs. 83 per litre.
Dar said the prices of light diesel oil (LDO) and kerosene will remain unchanged, which are maintained at Rs. 44 per litre. The government would bear a burden of Rs. 3 billion as a subsidy on petroleum products.
The new prices would be effective from April 1, 2017.
